If I were to list every event happening tonight, we'd be here all day. Instead, I'm going to focus on the very good local authors who are reading tonight.

At Town Hall, Nancy Pearl will read. The beloved librarian and action figure model reads from her new guide to books about travel, Book Lust to Go. She will be interviewed by Steve Scher, who is an Enemy of Slog.

Ethan Stowell will be reading at University Village Barnes & Noble tonight. Ethan Stowell's New Italian Kitchen is his book. Stowell will be reading everywhere in town next week, so this is not your only opportunity to see the fancy chef in person.

Pilot Books is hosting something called "Last of the Living Spankstra and Friends." An amazing (and kind of dauntingly long) lineup of local talent will read here tonight: Eli Richardson, Stacey Levine, David La Terre, Maged Zaher, Ira Parnes, Arne Pihl, Amanda Dellinger, John Persak, Roger Weaver, Brian McGuigan, and Loraine Campbell. I don't know how they'll fit all those authors into Pilot Books, let alone an audience. The promoter of this event sent a photo of some of the readers:

So there's that.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
