Even though the Truth movement has now been marginalized to about five message-board trolls—even though Glenn Beck calls them "idiots" and "dangerous"—we still continue to get e-mails from a guy who calls himself "9/11 Dude." Here is what his newest e-mail says:
Newly obtained video that was reluctantly released by NIST after a lawsuit by the International Center for 9/11 Studies shows two firefighters on 9/11 discussing how secondary explosions occurred immediately before the collapse of the twin towers, providing damning new evidence that explosive devices were used to bring down the buildings.
First of all: I love that they're now the "International Center for 9/11 Studies." That sounds totally coherent and rational, right? Here is the video:
Well! That settles it! Surely some firefighters who were in the middle of a building that had been hit by a 747 and was in the process of collapsing wouldn't misinterpret any of those sounds as an explosion. Eyewitnesses always provide expert testimony in the middle of catastrophe. (Why, for a recent example of this, Just look at how everybody was exactly right about the sonic booms back in August.) And did you notice that one of the firefighters said that the second 747 was black? He must be telling the truth! And since 747s aren't painted black, that can only mean one thing: Secret government plane!
So, in conclusion: Way to drag some stunned firefighters' private hells back into the public sphere so that you can make some incoherent point about a pet theory you cling to because the real world is too scary and you like being in the middle of your made-up conspiracy theory so that you feel special and heroic.
