Cristina Eisenberg, the author of The Wolf's Tooth: Keystone Predators, Trophic Cascades and Biodiversity, discusses what happens when you remove an animal from (or add an animal to) an ecosystem. And then Ingrid Betancourt, the author of Even Silence Has an End: My Six Years of Captivity in the Colombian Jungle, will discuss her captivity and her 2002 run for president.
Similar to Eisenberg's talk at Town Hall, Ravenna Third Place is hosting Science on Tap tonight. The topic is "A Global Shop of Horrors: Invasive Plants in an Era of Change."
And Yiyun Li reads at Elliott Bay tonight. Gold Boy, Emerald Girl is a collection of short stories by the celebrated writer.
