A block from this roof with the gregarious birds (12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street), a young man (Jarrett Jackson) was fatally shot for some dumb reason. The shooting happened this Saturday, and the suspect needs a million bones for his bail. Next to the spot of the meaningless human death, the life of a rat was extinguished by the wheels of an automobile. The driver of that vehicle might not have felt even a bump—his/her mind totally elsewhere. The rat (which was certainly slow and probably old) felt nothing instantly after it felt everything.
