The SECB is enjoying some free beer—there's no liquor in sight—at the Protect Our Communities party at FX McRory's in Pioneer Square. The beer is free for the twenty-or-so attendees thanks to the same beer distributors who underwrote POC's successful campaign to defeat initiatives 1100 and 1105, both of which would've put liquor on grocery store shelves and gotten the state out of the booze retailing business. Voters are rejecting 1105 by a wide margin and Stranger-backed 1100 by a narrower margin.

Rep. Eric Pettigrew stopped by a little earlier to toast POC's success before heading to the Westin to congratulate Patty Murray on her lead.
