Dino Rossi isn't much good at accepting responsibility for his own failures.
In 2004, Rossi never really conceded defeat. Instead, he merely announced that he would reluctantly end his election contest because the “political makeup of the Washington Supreme Court” makes it “almost impossible to overturn this ruling.” Not exactly gracious.
And throughout his 2010 Senate campaign, Rossi repeatedly insisted that he had been handicapped in 2004 and 2008 by having to run in presidential years. You know, that it was all those extra voters who were to blame, for actually showing up and voting. A kinda odd and rather small "d" anti-democratic admission, don't cha think?
So I'm curious to see, now that he's 0 for 3 (or 2 for 5 by Rossi's math, having won 2 out of 3 in 2004), how Rossi concedes defeat in a non-presidential, Big Red Wave year? Will he once again blame some external force? Or will he finally admit that a lot of Washington voters just don't like him, and sure as hell don't want the anti-gay/anti-choice/anti-labor bullshit he sells?
