Unsure of what Seattle neighborhood to call home, Molly Moon Neitzel will be parking Leo, the Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream Truck, in three locations over the next three months to see where the most ice cream-lovin’ Seattleites reside.
Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 1 Leo will be parked in Madrona at 1435 34th Ave. from 5 to 10 p.m. Kids who visit Leo tomorrow between 6 and 8 p.m. will receive a free kid-sized scoop. Leo will be parked in the same location throughout the month of December and will be open on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5-10 p.m. and Friday’s through Sundays from noon to 10 p.m.
Following Leo’s December stint in Madrona, Seattle’s favorite ice cream truck will move to Queen Anne in January and will spend all of February in Ballard.
The press release continues, saying: "Fans can help bring Molly Moon’s third shop to their neighborhood not only by visiting Leo, but by 'liking' the official Bring Molly Moon’s to Madrona, Bring Molly Moon’s to Ballard and Bring Molly Moon’s to Queen Anne Facebook pages."
So basically, the neighborhood with the most Facebook users who are willing to
get the fattest eat the most ice cream over the course of a month will win their very own Molly Moon's location! Seems a little strange to me, but I suppose this is field research in 2k10. May the hungriest neighborhood win.
(On a semi-related note, I'd love to see Full Tilt come to Queen Anne. Then I could have Molly Moon's and Bluebird on the Hill, for when I want ice cream after work, and Full Tilt on the weekends, when I want ice cream just a few blocks from my house. Think about it, Full Tilt. There's even an empty store front right on Queen Anne Avenue, across from Uptown Coffee, now that Underdawg Records has closed up shop.)
