According to Robot 6, IDW is bringing graphic novels to the iPad as individual apps. Notably (and it's kind of sad that this is notable, but there you go), the apps will cost markedly less than the physical comics.

One of the first comics to be adapted is Darwyn Cooke's incredible adaptation of Richard Stark's The Hunter. I reviewed that one in The Stranger a while back. Cooke is one of the finest cartoonists in the business today; he perfectly understands how to tell a story on the page with images. His timing is impeccable and he tells stories in a clear, simple and remarkably nuanced voice that is unique to him.

The Hunter is $24.99 in hardcover. The Hunter app will be $7.99. I can't wait to see how it sells.
