Seattle Times:

The U.S. Senate has confirmed Seattle Librarian Susan Hildreth as director of the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Hildreth was named to the post in September by President Obama, but her nomination required confirmation by the Senate.

The thing that Hildreth will probably be remembered for in Seattle is the corporate-style repositioning campaign she spearheaded for SPL. (And the way she tried to give raises to higher-ups in her administration while cutting the salaries of low-level librarians on her way out the door.)
