The woman, in her late 50s or early 60s, was working at Buffalo Exports, a warehouse on South Spokane Street. According to Seattle fire Lt. Sue Stangl, she was part of a crew that just before 3:30 p.m. was stacking bales of clothing estimated to weigh 700 to 1,000 pounds each.
