The first time I caught someone lighting up in City Hall was last month during a rally—people were banging on drums in the foyer, shouting anti-police slogans, and waving signs that compared elected officials to murderers. Amidst the frothing crowd was one dude smoking a joint and I idly thought, poor fella's wandered into the wrong drum circle. Then I forgot about it.

But since then, I keep catching wiffs of weed on the steps of City Hall, near the fountain on 4th Avenue, and—most recently—in that ridiculous red room next to Noah's bagels.

And meanwhile, every elected official at City Hall has come out in favor of legalizing pot.

Perhaps they're all just covering their tracks?
