It's a good thing Rep. Peter King (R-NY) is holding hearings on the domestic threat posed to our nation by American Muslims, because that's the only way to be sure to protect us from this:

Five Fairbanks-area residents involved in a loose-knit militia group have been arrested in connection with a plot to kidnap or kill Alaska state troopers and a local judge, federal and state authorities said on Friday.

The group includes Francis "Schaeffer" Cox, the 26-year-old leader of the so-called "citizen sovereignty" movement, which considers individuals to be sovereign nations not subject to any state or federal laws.

The five have been charged with conspiring to commit murder, kidnapping and arson, weapons misconduct, hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence, but not domestic terrorism, because conspiring to kidnap and kill police officers and judges and their families is not terrorism. If you're white. And Christian. And, you know, a sovereign nation.

It's also not terrorism, because that label would imply some sort of political motive, and there's absolutely nothing to suggest that those involved with this kidnap/arson/murder plot were in any way motivated by politics.

[Cox] ran for the state legislature in 2008, and has tangled with law enforcement officers over domestic-violence charges and weapons charges.

Domestic violence, yes. Domestic terrorism, no. So nothing to worry about here.
