Saying "marijuana is Washington’s second biggest cash crop," that taxing and regulating it "will generate an estimated $215 million in new tax revenues each year," and that marijuana enforcement is "wasting millions of dollars in police, court, and jail resources," the Washington State Democratic Central Committee voted 75-43 this afternoon to endorse Initiative 502. The resolution supporting I-502 is here. If voters pass the measure next year, it would legalize, tax, and regulate marijuana for adults 21 and over.
