As Slate informs us, the URL is instead owned by the liberal PAC American Bridge 21st Century, who are using the addy to redirect people to a bunch of websites that reflect poorly on Newt Gingrich. (My first try landed me at Tiffany and Co.)
Earlier this week, the group reportedly ran a Craigslist ad offering to sell the domain name for $1 million. The ad has since been pulled, but here's what it said:
We thought of giving it away, but we wouldn't want to be accused of being socialists. So, make your best offer. We're asking for $1 million, but we'd be happy to accept $500,000 in bling. Heck in the spirit of Christmas we might even let it go for $10,000."
Stay tuned!
