TAYLOR SHELLFISH FARMS CELEBRATES FIRST BIRTHDAY OF SUCCESSFUL MELROSE STORE ON CAPITOL HILL

SEATTLE: Taylor Shellfish Farms, a fifth generation, family-owned shellfish farming company is having a one-year birthday celebration July 11 from 1:00 to 7:00 pm for their Capitol Hill retail store and oyster bar at 1521 Melrose Ave. With a variety of live shellfish delivered almost daily, Taylor brings the farm to the city.

“The enthusiasm with which Seattle has embraced our Melrose store is very gratifying,” says Bill Taylor. “The comments from folks about the freshest oysters and the ambience of the store has gotten what we really wanted from the store: a great experience for the public enjoying great shellfish in a friendly atmosphere.”

“The store has done exceptionally well,” adds Taylor president Jeff Pearson. “Now we want to have a birthday party for the neighborhood and all of the people who have been supporting us.”

The convivial festivities will include live music, BBQ oysters all afternoon, oyster shucking demonstrations by International Boston Seafood Show Shucking Champion, David Leck; geoduck and Mediterranean mussel demos by renowned bivalve chef Xinh Dwelley from Xinh’s Clam & Oyster House in Shelton, delicious shellfish preparations to sample, shellfish friendly beverage for purchase, raffle for prizes, and more.
