By giving away free advertising to a Republican candidate for governor—while providing nothing to a Democratic candidate—the Seattle Times is officially declaring its partisan bias. It's not just in the editorials. The newspaper is a Republican newspaper.

And that's fine. There's nothing wrong with being an unrepentant GOP news outlet. But don't give us any bullshit about any aspect of that operation being neutral. The pages of the Seattle Times have never been neutral. The paper's bias has been exposed in what they choose to report, choose not to report, and by pushing the ed board's agenda from the front page of the paper. Now the paper has surrounded its entire operation with its true Republican leanings. Which, again, is just fine.

Just don't give us any bullshit about it being "objective journalism."
