Seattle Times editorial columnist Sharon Pian Chan resents it when Democrats appear to take the support of minority voters for granted:

When Democrats presume votes from Latinos, Asian Americans, Native Americans or blacks, they stop factoring in our concerns when making decisions, hiring staff and developing future candidates.

If that's what Dems do, I don't blame her. And yet, that's exactly what her editorial board is advising Governor-elect Jay Inslee to do to union members when it insists that Inslee will "have to say no to some who helped elect him."

President Obama won the union vote by a two-to-one margin. But Republicans apparently have no interest in wooing this demographic. Huh.
