The great big, wild, annual art parade NEPO 5K Don't Run*—happening Saturday afternoon—was mistakenly left out of the calendar in the print edition of this week's paper. I'm so sorry about that. I absolutely recommend it! Each year, it's a highlight of the fall season, and you shouldn't wuss out because of rain (this is Seattle, people).
Sixty artists have created sculptures, interactions, readings, projections, and performances that will appear all along the route of the walk, starting at Hing Hay Park in the ID, where you register ($10), snaking up to NEPO House on Beacon Hill, where there are food trucks, beer gardens, and DJs playing.
Artists this year include Rumi Koshino, Sol Hashemi, Ryan Fedyk, meadow starts with p, Serrah Russell, Saya Moriyasu, Carolina Silva, Hanita Schwarz, Mario Lemafa, New Animals, and several teams, including Midwest (Sean Johnson and Jason Wood), Rodrigo Valenzuela and Anastasia Hill, and Kathryn Rathke, Jake Nelson, and Barry Wright. Full list and details here.
*Really, don't run. They don't have the permits for that.
