It's a five-day festival of well-regarded-but-largely-overlooked films from 2013, hosted by Northwest cineast Warren Etheredge, who'll lead post-screening discussions of each film's themes, aims, and creators. On the roster: Marta Cunningham's documentary about the killing of Lawrence King, Valentine Road (Feb 26), James Ponsoldt's smart sobriety drama Smashed (Feb 27), David Lowery's acclaimed indie drama Ain't Them Bodies Saints (Feb 28), and Jeff Nichols's star-packed drama Mud (Mar 1).

Things kick off tonight with What Maisie Knew, Scott McGehee and David Siegel's contemporary update of Henry James’ eponymous 1897 novel. (Key post-film discussion question: How do you respectfully capture the nuanced perspective of minors?)
