Putin was there, using the moment for his own political purposes: "Putting his personal seal on the annexation of Crimea, President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia arrived in the naval port of Sevastopol on Friday, where he used the anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany to assert that Moscow had the right to take over the Black Sea peninsula."

Seattle Rep Announces Memorial Service for Beloved Artistic Director Jerry Manning: "The memorial service will be held Monday, June 2, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at Seattle Repertory Theatre," said a statement from the theater yesterday." In lieu of flowers, the Manning family encourages donations to the Rep to help sustain the Theatre’s many artistic projects."
