Oh shit, guys, there's a crack in the street!

Or, in other words, "It has been brought to our attention that there is a crack in King Street that may develop into a hole near the intersection of First Avenue. We have contacted the appropriate City departments and they are working together with WSDOT crews to investigate the situation. As we learn more, we will let you know." That's what Washington State Department of Transportation administrator Todd Trepanier—the same guy who has insisted the Alaskan Way Viaduct is safe and not cracking—told the mayor and City Council in an e-mail sent this afternoon.

Mayor Ed Murray is about to hold a press conference near the crack. More info as it comes.

Note: We've got an update on the crack!
