Stranger Election Control Board Jul 3, 2025 at 10:44 am

He's a wonk with a thirst for progressive revenue and a resume fit for a housing crisis.

Terrible endorsement. Anyone who voted for 1B is too stupid to be an elected official.

2

"Give a frack" — I regret that you are all apparently too young to have watched the amazing early 2000s TV series, Battlestar Galactica.

3

+1 to @1. Jeanie Chunn has a legitimate grievance being called "too green" when you endorsed this rube.

4

Definitely NOT a good endorsement. Lin lacks experience, knowledge and commitment to community. Since Rich left the editorial board, The Stranger has been endorsing the wrong people because the current board is not doing its homework. It’s irresponsible.
Wait for more travesty.

“…uninformed comment blaming drug users for their own predicament.”

The story which follows nicely encapsulates the failure of Seattle’s homelessness policy. The options offered are accept offers of services (treatment, shelter) or continue to rot on the street. The options should be: accept services, or here’s your citation for illegal camping, theft, assault, etc. Either way, the person is now on a path which will get him off of Seattle’s streets.

He's a wOnK!!!

I automatically vote against anyone described as a "wonk" by anyone, especially by The Stranger.

@2 - I regret that you are all apparently too young to have watched the amazing 1978-1979 TV series, Battlestar Galactica.

@7 original BSG is schlocky trash.

9

@8 - your "amazing early 2000s TV series" couldn't have existed at all without that original "schlocky trash". Deal with it

The first responsibility of a district council member is to represent the district: Make sure city departments are picking up the trash, keeping the parks presentable, repairing streetlights, etc. Morales didn’t do that. Instead she cozied up to the “neighborhood activists” who, nine time out of ten, are either ambitious attention whores of complete dingbats.

Under the old system, there was more opportunity for “Vision”, because there was no one in charge of specific parts of town. But we voted for district representatives, and the office holders have to live up to that expectation.

@ 10
Catalina, I agree. And if we vote for Lin he will do what Morales did. And he’s got connections. Unions will fight to elevate him to this position. Did you know his wife is the immediate past prez of the teacher union? You can’t make this up.

12

Miss Apatos dear, unions have the right to support whoever they wish. When we get horrible politicians the fault lies with the voters (and non-voters, and purity voters)
