So, her 'de-escalation' consisted of a government official (her) demanding the police curtail other Americans' First Amendment rights because some intolerant counter-protestors used violence? The word for that is "repression," and voters should not reward repression by giving that government official more power.

Savage is right that words are not violence. I'm not sure the point on hate speech, hateful speech clearly exists. If her point is saying hateful things about a group falls under the first amendment, I'd generally agree.
