It’s France’s equivalent of the Fourth of July—celebrate by clamping a small beret onto Fido at the Seattle Center’s French costume parade for dogs (plus more actually French things). In Madison Valley, a somewhat-French street food fair benefits the Children’s Response Center. The party at Bastille (the restaurant) in Ballard features a Marie Antoinette–alike (no beheading!). Le Pichet downtown—always packed today—has live music, as does the outdoor party at the Corson Building, where you can also play carnival games, make mustard, experience “bike-powered high jinks,” and more. Chouette! (Prices/times: www.seattle-bastille.org, www.madisonvalley.org, www.bastilleseattle.com, www.lepichetseattle.com, www.thecorsonbuilding.com)
