J’adore the French freak-auteur Christian Rizzo, and j’adore On the Boards for bringing him back so many times. Whenever Rizzo shows up, he inspires marvelous arguments. Some see genius in his dance-theater-fashion spectacles, and some see a whole lot of nothing. I see an example of the gorgeous Rene Magritte aphorism: “The banality common to all things, is Mystery.” This weekend, he brings Néo-Fiction, which involves him and artist Sophie Laly and filming stuff in the Northwest to make a performance around. The show is free, I am told, because of “visa reasons.” Je déteste US immigration policy. (On the Boards, 100 W Roy St, www.ontheboards.org, 8 pm, free)
