Neko Case is fucking rad, yes. We know this. But Neko Case live? It’s a whole ’nother level—and not just watching that other-dimensional voice come out of a human. Her stage manner is dry, self-mocking, and occasionally crowd-mocking. She was on fire at the Capitol Hill Block Party in 2012 with quips like “This song’s about being a huge whore” and noting that a song she wrote for her father was now a “vampire fuck song” after being on a TV show. The grand Paramount should give her plenty of space to be silly and brilliant; sit as close as you can. (Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine St, stgpresents.org, 7:30 pm, $28.25–$33.25, all ages)
