Tonight at 7, the Central Library is hosting a free reading with Jonathan Lethem. That’ll be a great time—Lethem is a funny and disarmingly honest public speaker—but you really want to go to Third Place Books Ravenna, which is hosting lunch with Lethem. You don’t get many opportunities to take part in a casual—and quite possibly boozy—event with an author of this stature. The entry fee buys you delicious Greek food from Vios Cafe and a copy of Lethem’s epic novel about three generations of American protestors, Dissident Gardens. That’s a steal. (Ravenna Third Place Books, 6504 20th Ave NE, 525-2347, 1 pm, $35)
