The last time I went to tiny, marvelous Chico Madrid, it was after a long summertime afternoon spent swimming in Lake Washington. Their sandwiches—Spanish-style bocadillos, made on Columbia City Bakery ficelle with excellent ingredients—were exactly right for a hot day’s supper, and I sat outside and had a glass of their actually delicious sangria. (Most sangria tastes like orange peels and bad tannins, doesn’t it? Not Chico Madrid’s. And they have white sangria, too.) Time to pretend it’s summertime—see you soon, Chico Madrid.
