I love breakdancing contests. Not because I can do anything that even remotely resembles a windmill, head spin, or jackhammer (hell to the no, I can’t!)—but because these competitions are fantastic spectator events. The second annual battle, organized in part by the UW Hip Hop Association, awards a grand prize of $3,000. In addition to Seattle’s Massive Monkees crew, b-boys and b-girls will come from as far as Brazil, Hawaii, and Taiwan to compete. There’s the preliminary battles (Friday), the main competition (Saturday), and dance workshops (Sunday). Check Reign Supreme’s Twitter for locations and schedule @ReignSupremeNW.
