Scottish producer Rustie is a maximalist audio surrealist whose future-bass/post-hiphop tracks are as complex as calculus and as texturally rich as Cher’s wardrobe. On releases like Bad Science and Glass Swords, Rustie creates gleaming, serpentine puzzles out of rhythm and melody. His music’s a kind of prog funk that jitters and snakes in unpredictable patterns, reveling in an excess of ideas per track that’s ecstatically exhausting. Your legs—and neurons—are in for one helluva workout. (Barboza, 925 E Pike St, thebarboza.com, 8 pm, $16 adv, 21+)
