“Hari Kondabolu,” says original riot grrrl musician Kathleen Hanna, “is punk as fuck.” And it makes perfect sense that Kondabolu’s new comedy album, Waiting for 2042, was released on Olympia’s original punk record label Kill Rock Stars. In addition to razor-sharp joke-gems about the year 2042 (the year when the US Census predicts white people will become a minority), Kondabolu’s 2042 promises topics like “environmentally friendly pollution machines,” “flamboyant heterosexuals,” and “feminist dick jokes.” Laugh till you cry at the live show, then take the album home so you can make other people cry, too.
