You’d think by now, Capitol Hill would be overrun by malleable, creative spaces like Cairo—a mostly boutique retail store that readily transforms itself into a record label, an all-ages music venue, and, once a month, an art gallery. Part of the Blitz Capitol Hill Arts Walk, Cairo is a space for raw and unconventional visual arts curation. This month features four local artists—Jake Muilenburg, Michael Fettig, Nick Shively, and Trevor Brown—who have worked collaboratively and independently to “pay homage to the power and prominence of the human derriere, both in its glory and/or obscurity.” Yeah, you read that right: ARTWORK ABOUT BUTTS.
