Wherever you are on the spectrum of teetotaler to addict, this is a druggy world, and we’re just living in it. Under the Influence is an art exhibition in various mediums on the subject of intoxicants. Alice Wheeler’s photographs themselves seem to be on drugs, what with their throbbing oddity and color. Other terrific artists contributing are Derek von Essen, Elias Hansen, Lindsey Apodaca, Matt Browning, Jeremy Bert, Justin Beckman, Sean Johnson, and Steven Miller (dudes have more to say on controlled substances?)—plus, intriguingly, items from MOHAI’s archive. Cross your fingers there’s a bathtub from Prohibition put back into use. (SOIL Gallery, 112 Third Ave S, soilart.org, noon–5 pm, free, through May 31)
