Edward Albee’s 1963 play about two couples (one young and cocky, one old and bitter, both connected to a small-town university) is a triathlon for actors: a long, grueling, difficult chance to show their stuff. The men in this production are okay, but the women are great—Pamela Reed plays Martha with surprising vulnerability for such a ferocious old tigress, and Amy Hill’s young, naive, drunken Honey has her own sinister depths I have never seen an actress discover before.
