Certain forms of art can get away with being terribly disconnected from everything around them. But posters that get wheat-pasted to the surfaces of their cities are always of the moment, which gives them a certain unimpeachable greatness. In this show, cocurated by Ghost Gallery owner Laurie Kearney and Stranger art director Aaron Huffman, who chooses a Poster of the Week for each edition of the paper, you’ll see the creations of 27 here-and-now artists who have attempted to catch your eyeballs in the midst of everything else flying at you. These are all the local greats seeking the contemporary Holy Grail of getting someone’s attention. See how they do it.
