(DYNAMATION LOVE) Before George Lucas and his army of dorks turned movies into cartoons, there was stop-motion animation giant Ray Harryhausen, whose "Dynamation" provided thrills, frights, and a sense of awe in films like Jason and the Argonauts. Though dated, his work remains both inspiring and inspired, and to celebrate his 85th birthday, the Grand Illusion is screening six of his films over the next three weeks. Clear your calendar, you should see as many as you can. (Grand Illusion, 1403 NE 50th St, 523-3935. For more info go to www.grandillusioncinema.org.)
