There are fixed objects by Seattle artists in the Frye’s big fall show—paintings, photographs, sculptures, and videos by Jeffry Mitchell, the Black Constellation, Anne Fenton, and Buster Simpson, to name a few. But the distinguishing feature of Mw [Moment Magnitude] is that it stages the creation of new works. For two days, artist/musician/magical unicorn (and Stranger Genius) Wynne Greenwood will record a music video—inside a re-creation of her past installation The Women’s Spa—for the songs “Mirrors” and “Dresser” from her recent album, A Fire to Keep You Warm. Check the schedule for live performances by other artists, too. (Frye Art Museum, 704 Terry Ave, www.fryemuseum.org, 11 am–7 pm, free; continues Fri Oct 26, 11–5)
