Who would have thought the most ear-catching instrument in electronic music this year would be—what is that, anyway? Bells? Chimes? Maybe a marimba? Whatever the source, German solo artist Pantha Du Prince bends melodic percussion to create a singularly cool, billowing brand of minimal techno on his latest, Black Noise.
