Joyously inhabiting a self-made universe of placid pop, power ballads, and jazz hands, Mark Siano's Soft Rock Explosion is the well-loved cabaret act devoted to thrilling performances of boring songs. Not-so-secret weapon: the emotion-in-motion that is the Freedom Dancers, who fuel this "music, comedy, and dance spectacular!" that earns its exclamation point. If we're lucky, the show will involve roller skates and spangled body stockings. (Triple Door, 216 Union St, 838-4333. 7:30 pm [all ages], 10:30 pm [21+], $18 adv/$22 DOS.)
