Theater company/culture virus Implied Violence has been traveling: a residency at Robert Wilson's Watermill Center on Long Island, reconnaissance trips to Germany, and now an invitation to make a scene at the New Island Festival in New York City. To fund their exploits, they're doing what they do best—throwing a bash. The venue: the basement of the American Hotel (until recently a Union Gospel shelter). The art: Implied Violence, NKO. The bands: messy punk by Strong Killings, garage pop by TacocaT, ethereal avant by Zac Pennington and Jherek Bischoff of the Parenthetical Girls, dirty electronica by Weekend, and more. The booze: of course. (American Hotel, 520 S King St, 714-9563. 8 pm–whenever, $15–$30 suggested donation.)
