If you've ever watched the Nicolas Cage atrocity that is 8MM, you've seen just about all mainstream cinema has to say about snuff films. Snuff is a documentary that tries to track down the mythical beast, exploring the legends, rumors, and conjectures about people dying on film. (Do ridiculously wealthy perverts really have people murdered for entertainment?) While searching for those films, Snuff takes a much-needed look at the deep, loving relationship between movies and death. (Central Cinema, 1411 21st Ave, 686-6684. 7 pm, $10 or free w/STIFF pass.)
