The year Mary Henry showed her first painting at an art museum, Adolf Hitler was Time magazine's Man of the Year (1938). This year the Whidbey Island—based artist will be 94 and she has been a powerhouse of geometric abstraction for almost all of that time, never deviating from her roots in 1920s constructivism. She designed a majestic architectural mural as part of her Howard House show of paintings; if you're lucky, you'll catch the grand dame at tonight's opening.
