(LECTURE) War photography is at an all-time low, except, of course, for images shot by our own national torture team. An-My Lê, a Vietnam War refugee herself, is an exception. For 20 years, the artist has documented the habits and traces of war. She'll talk about her 2005 book, Small Wars, which joins landscapes of modern Vietnam with portraits of American soldiers training to fight terrorists and Vietnam War battle reenactors in South Carolina.
