(ART) The first First Thursday of 2006 has several exhibits that must not be missed. Top of my list: Howard House's exhibition by Mark Danielson (his paintings explore the substance and the history of modern and mid-century American homes). Next on my list: James Harris Gallery's exhibition by Mary Ann Peters, whose watercolors are vaporous like the sort of life forms you'd expect on Venus. And lastly: Greg Kucera Gallery has new black-and-white photographs by the talented Tim Roda. (Howard House, 604 Second Ave; James Harris Gallery, 309 Third Ave S; Greg Kucera, 212 Third Ave S. 6–9 pm, free.) CHARLES MUDEDE
