(FILM) This riveting documentary about the Winter Soldier Investigation in Detroit, 1971, examines a culture of callousness among American soldiers in Vietnam that will sound grimly familiar to anyone who's been following the torture debates raging today. It's also a fascinating snapshot of America at the close of the 1960s, featuring lots of facial hair, explicit racial tension and intimations of the feminist grievances to come, and a cameo from a young John Kerry.
