(MUSIC) Tributes are nothing new, but the timing of Earlimart's latest release, Treble & Tremble, and Elliott Smith's posthumous CD put the two artists in a serendipitous musical embrace. The L.A. trio wrote a eulogy of sorts for their recently deceased friend, and Treble is honest and emotional without being overly sentimental. Singer Aaron Espinoza's hushed vocals complement the best of Smith's work, and despite the subject matter, Treble creates such a lush landscape it broadcasts hope and heartache in equal doses.
