The School of Visual Concepts has brought back the wayzgoose, an old-timey holiday when master printers feted their laborers to mark the end of summer and, according to Wikipedia, “the start of the season of working by candlelight.” SVC’s wayzgoose includes demonstrations, chances to make your own prints on vintage metal presses, a printers’ equipment swap, Americana music from the Canote Brothers, and the “steamroller letterpress smackdown,” in which steamrollers make enormous prints. It’s free and good for kids. (School of Visual Concepts, 500 Aurora Ave N, wayzgoose.svcseattle.com, 1–6 pm, free)
