Did you even read the book? It wasn't "Christians sucked up in the Rapture." It was a rapture-like event called the Sudden Disappearance that took people of all ages, races, and RELIGIONS. And the world most certainly did not get better with the rabid christians gone. Instead new christian cults popped up like the Holy Wayners and the Guilty Remnant.
