I've heard it's true to what that neighborhood used to be like, before it became so gentrified.

One wonders if one's perception is different depending on whom one is, as we saw in Saturday night's SIFF Spanish film AFTER.

I wish I could remember the name of the famous Charlestown bank robber that the movie is partly based on. He was notorious when I lived there, not just for robbing banks but for the way he robbed them, with extraordinary viciousness and, it has to be said, flair. He always jumped over the counter, that's all I can remember about him. Busted in 1991 or 92. Charlestown was indeed the home of bank robbers, and was a gritty but charming (if you were white) little enclave back then, hard to get into and out of.

Reason to hate Ben Affleck: "Gigli". Might be the worst movie ever made.

Ben Affleck has a fun name to say. It rolls right off the tongue in one word...

Bennafleck

Two words: Rebecca Hall.

Well, Gigli was pretty bad.

Jennifer looked nice in it, though. Even if she calls herself J-Lo now. But the movie did suck.

@6, you're nuts. She looked like a zombie in it. A zombie made of glazed dough. That movie had ZERO redeeming features, unless you count "it's turkey time, gobble gobble!" (the single worst line of dialog in the history of motion pictures).

I think he hit a low with Gigli and Daredevil. It's hard to remember that he actually won an academy award (for writing, not acting). Maybe he's ready for a come back.
9
@7 I live in the zombie capital of the world.

And that's what she looks like without all the makeup.

@8 no, Daredevil was pretty good. Way better than the spin-off for the other actress.

Not his best, but not Gigli.

Please wait...
