What's your definition of glamour? "Something sparkly and kind of glorious. Maybe with a little bit of a dark edge, a little bit wicked."
When are you most glamorous? "Probably in my mind."
Describe how you see yourself in your mind. "Oh, no. Oh God. In a million different ways."
Pick one. "This is totally... um... sometimes I see myself as under-the-table-after-karaoke."
Is that all hyphenated? "Yes. And sometimes that's when I'm glamorous in my mind. But only in my mind."
What's your favorite karaoke song? "'These Boots Are Made for Walking,' sung by an old friend."
And to sing yourself? "I don't really like singing karaoke. That's why I usually end up under the table--or have before."
It's not a common habit. "No."
Who's the most glamorous person you know? "My friend Molly is pretty glamorous. She's unabashed about doing things like having flaming red hair and singing karaoke."
Is that her natural color? "Um, no. Actually, a lot of the women that I know are glamorous. My friend Cat is pretty glamorous. She has amazing sparkly moments."
Only the women? Can't men be glamorous? "Men can be very glamorous. Most of the men that I knew in the '80s were pretty glamorous--the show is partly about glam rock. I knew my share of men who wore makeup."
So glamour demands makeup. "Oooh... no. You can be glamorous without makeup. But not in the '80s. For the men, at least."
